Tips to Watch F1 in Singapore

Updated: Aug 27, 2022

If you're a Formula One fan or just curious about the sport, then this article is for you. We've rounded up some awesome tips and tricks to help make your F1 experience even better while visiting Singapore.

Avoid the crowds.

If you're not an expert on F1, the best place to watch is from the grandstands. The corners are very technical and have a lot of camber, so it's hard to get a good view from elsewhere.

In general, if you want to avoid crowds—especially if you have children who can't stay quiet for long periods of time—the practice sessions are a better option than race day itself. On Friday and Saturday mornings before racing begins, there aren't many people around; it's much easier to get a good spot without having your view blocked by someone else's umbrella or selfie stick (or both!).

Pack light to beat the heat.

  • Wear light clothing. The F1 race is one of the hottest days you can experience in Singapore. Pack your bag with lightweight clothes and sunscreen, so that you will be able to stay comfortable through the entire day. A hat would also be very useful for keeping your head cool during the race!

  • Bring a bottle of water and a towel with you to keep yourself hydrated throughout the event. This is especially important if you plan to watch from inside an air-conditioned venue—and it’s always good practice just in case there aren’t any water fountains nearby!

  • Pack sunglasses or sunglasses adaptors so you can protect your eyes while watching F1 races under bright sunlight conditions at night time; they are also useful if there are heavy rains during weekends when we usually get our annual monsoon season here in Southeast Asia region (SEA).

Skip the hassle of queueing for food and drinks.

As long as you have a valid ticket, skip the hassle of queueing up for food and drinks. Instead, enjoy your race with a comfortable seat and a cold drink. If you want to save some money on food and drinks, simply bring along your own snacks or purchase them from outside the venue before entering. By bringing your own food and drinks into the venue, you can also avoid being ripped off by unscrupulous vendors who will try to sell them at exorbitant prices.

When inside an F1 event venue, don’t be afraid to ask questions from staff members if you need help. They are there to assist you! If there are no staff around but still need assistance with anything at all (from directions), call us on +65-6885-2800 (24 hrs).

Get a ticket bundle that offers the best value.

If you're a big F1 fan, don't just settle for a ticket. Get a ticket bundle that offers the best value and includes a seat with a good view.

This way you'll have plenty of time to get settled in your seat before the race begins, and you won't miss any of the action!

Bring cash to get your hands on F1 merchandise.

If you want to buy any F1 merchandise, you’ll need to have cash. Credit cards are not accepted at the merchandise stalls. The same rule applies for food and drink—you can only pay with cash here.

Conclusion

If you’ve made it this far, then you know what to expect at the Singapore Grand Prix. You’re also likely feeling a bit more prepared for the big event and everything it has to offer. We recommend that you take your time when planning out your F1 experience, so that when race day arrives, all of your bases are covered and you can enjoy every minute of it!
